Has anyone heard of Clomid making women crazy? My sister is on Clomid to help her have a baby b/c they are having problems and I have heard it can make you depressed or crazy. I am just trying to get some feedback on this pill. Thanks

sarah jane replied: "It doesn't make you crazy- but it is a hormone, and as such, can affect your moods."

Tina replied: "I had some pretty intense mood swings when on Clomid. My RE referred to it as being "clomid-cidal". I could go from happy to angry to sad in about 60 seconds. The symptoms seem a bit less intense if you take it at night - you sleep off the worst . . . if you can sleep through the hot flashes (another side effect), that is! The good news, it does go away when you finish your pills. Good luck to your sister!"

Has anyone else felt like they were going crazy on Clomid? This was my first round of 50 mg. of Clomid and I feel like I am losing my mind. I have been so emotional, crying, and quick to overreact. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now and have had two IUIs. I just went in for my third IUI, but first with Clomid. I am hoping someone out there has a success story that can help me stick with this medicine and realize these side effects are normal...

Staci K replied: "The side effects suck, but it's normal. Basically, the Clomid makes your brain think that your body isn't producing enough estrogen, so it keeps making more, which causes all the emotional crap! Just try to remember it's the medicine and it's temporary! Warn your significant other as well. Maybe next cycle you won't have any issues! My 4th round has been wonderful, no side effects at all!"

has anyone else, had their body go crazy after clomid? So my first month off clomid, I was camping and then I lost my temp thermometer So I lost um 7 days of temps on my chart, Or more because I got a new one and I didn't like it so I got another. It is better! But When I resumed my temp chart, My temps were low, then i had a spike near the end of my month, day 30 of my cycle it is usually 32-35 days. so It looks like I ov on day 30 but then I got my period 5 days later? crazy, but now I am in my second month and my temps are staying mid range..they are not low and they are not high. I also feel sick at night and my head hurts too, but no boob pain. I can't figer it out because I don't think I even ovulated at all. I did a preggo test, which was - thought I did it in the evening. I don't what to do another test, because I hate the feeling of hope. If my crazy body stuff is still around for the next 2 weeks then I might try again. thank you for listening and the help! yes I use them, I well missed that month bc of camping and crazyness of life, but I am back to it this month I am not on clomid any more! my first month off clomid I was fine! but now my body is way off! I am not on clomid, I when off early! I only took 4 months of clomid MY last months was july.

Sicilia has lost it replied: "i think the digital ovulation kits are so much easier. there really is no charting of temp and guessing games. its either a happy face (ovulation detected) or a circle (no ovulation). those temp confuse me. good for you that you at least understand it and can follow it."

chiquita11 replied: "Clomid can give you many many side effects so hang in there as much as you can! you can take an hpt 2 weeks after you ovulated, and try not to focus too much on this side effects as they could also be early pregnancy symptoms, you can also ask a doctor online for free and find others taking clomid, try fertilityties.com good luck!!"

bella replied: "clomid can do alot of strange things during the womens cycle, to confirm that it is actually making you ovulate though, get confirmed by a doctor. it is a simple blood test that you will take approx 21st day of your cycle. explain to the doctor what is going on if you ovulate later in a cycle you sometimes get your period later as well."

Crazy Clomid and Ovulating question? On the 23rd day of my cycle my dr wanted me to take a blood test to see if I Ovulated. My OPK's came pack pos on days 21 and 22. My husband and I baby danced from when AF stopped to recently. On day 29 I called the Dr to see about my day 23 test results and she said I Ovulated. Later that day I started spotting and still am however it is brown and only after using the restroom. I guess my question is: is 7 or 8 dpo too early for AF? I have taken HPT's and they are neg. I don't mean to sound crazy, but I am just wondering if AF is really early or could it be implantation? Thanks, Toni

Jennifer D replied: "From what I am thinking it is implantation bleeding. Are your periods normally on schedule? If not then maybe period but if they are then probably implantaion."

macsterx2002 replied: "it could well be implantation bleeds as they are usually just spotting. Af should be due 14 dpo in a normal cycle. And if you only had a poss on opk on day 21 and 22 that mean you must have ovulated arround then."

is it normal for my temp's to be a little crazy while on clomid? i'm about to get a/f and my temps never went up

Sarah K replied: "I hear it is typical. I took clomid for one cycle, only 50 mg, and my temps were regular, but I heard others saying it wrecks havock on your temps. GL"

dreamz a replied: "yeah temp's can really go high..m on 3rd cycle of clomid,on first cycle I din find much difference but with my 3rd cycle my temp's have gone crazy.But many have high temp's from the first cycle itself and some don have any such problems at all.So it all depends on individual body and how it reacts.So its quite normal with clomid."

Did your temps go crazy while taking Clomid? I have been on Clomid on several different occasions (each pregnancy, but sadly, most ended in m/c). So, you would think that I would be familiar with this, but for some reason, I can't remember that my temps were this all over the place while on my clomid pills (days 5-9, currently on day 9). It looks like a HUGE rocky mountain and there is over a FULL degree difference between two of my temps. Yesterday I was at 98.1 and this morning I was at 96.74! And yes, I am taking the temps at the same time and also nothing has changed in my sleeping pattern. Did this happen to you?

baby hope replied: "yes it could go up and down with clomid i guess my temp was 97.22three days ago then yesterday it was 97.70 then today it was 97.88 but i asked this girl and she said i mite have ovulated on the 97.22 temp she said it will dip then go back up after ovulation and stay up until af come or it will stay up if im pregnant today is cd13 for me so if i did ovulate i would have ovulated on cd10or 11 i took 100mg on cd3-7 3rd round"

Pregnant or Too early to tell or am I just crazy? Did 150 mg of Clomid this past cycle...? My lmp started on 6/22/07 after being induced by Provera. I did take 150 mg of Clomid on cd's 3-7. Had a transvag. U/S done on cd 11 showing promising folicles...I was supposed to get an HCG trigger shot but there was a mix up at the pharmacy so I never did get my HCG trigger. Anyhow...dh & I bd on July 6th,7th & 8th...because I had all the signs of ovulation on 7/6 on R. and again on 7/8 L. (Way more intense than I'v felt in a very long time.) This past Sat. I started having a bit of nausea off & on...it's now Wed. 7/18 - I'm still having episodes of nausea & huge food adversions. I'm a bit moody & a bit more tired but AF is still at least 4 days away. Because the only other time I ever felt this bad was in my 2nd pg - I went & had a blood test done on Mon. it was Neg. Did I test too early? Think I might be? Or is it some weird after effect from Clomid? Don't laugh -or even the weather? (It's been really humid than what I'm used too!) Ever get MS this early? thnx.

Melissa B replied: "I have been through everything you mentioned. My OB would not do a blood test on me until 4 days past my expected period. Even then, my numbers were only about 150, so it's very possible that you may have tested too early. I would suggest waiting until you missed your period before testing. Although I don't believe the Clomid is causing your symptoms, sometimes they can be brought on because you want to be pregnant very badly. The mind is very powerful. I hope they are pregnancy symptoms though. Best of luck to you."

Has anyone followed the Shettles Method while on Clomid? I would like to try for a girl but it's pretty hard to follow his rules while taking clomid. I have a little boy I am crazy about but thought that it couldn't hurt to try for a girl, however I am afraid to miss my fertility window.

GIRLY replied: "If you get this answer share with me!! I want a little girl too!! I am on clomid 100mg so I think we are in the same boat. I am also using the OV WATCH this might help you too it tells you 6 days in advance when you are ovulating reading the salts off you skin. Supposely you are suppose to have sex 3-4 days prior to ovulation so hey it might help. This is my first month using it!!"

im Provera crazy! When should i start Clomid? Last day of 10 day Provera cycle was 3/7. On Tuesday 3/10 I started light bleeding. Not much. On Wednesday, 3/11, same, super light, got away with a liner. But yesterday, 3/12, it was a reg flow. Today is Hell. All that being said, what would you count as cycle day 1? I need to start my Clomid on day 5. Do I count the light stuff as AF? Or the REAL heavy stuff as AF? Help! I'm a mess!

Jennifer K replied: "My nurse at my RI's office says the first day of actual flow when you need a tampon is day one. I'd consider yesterday day 1 and you should start clomid tomorrow. I'm the same way... for some reason being on clomid has made me have a "pre-period" where I have light spotting and bleeding and brown discharge for a few days before I actually start. I'm on clomid for cycle days 3-5. I was always told to take it on day three. Good luck!"

TTC my #1 2009 baby replied: "hey girl u in the same as me . hey i asked my doc.. the same question like 4 days ago and he told me as soon as u start spotting that's already considered a period so take ur pill's on the 5th day of ur cycle so i did. and hey u were suppost to take it already. hey u know what we both started are period the same day that's so cool i started my period saturday on the 7th also and i also took provera 10 mg for ten days i got my AF 3/7 spotting. and 3/8 spotting. 3/9 regular flow. and 3/10 and 3/11 i got it heavy and 3/11- 3/12 spotting and today i burly even trowing anything so i should be off of it by tomorrow morning. i took my first pill of clomid 50 mg on Wednesday 03/11/2009 and u were suppost to take it on Wednesday but u know what u should ask ur doc.. just to be safe. my last clomid 50mg CD 5-9 pill is going to be this sunday. and im also on metformin 500mg x 2 a day well girl i wish u luck i hope i helped."

Going to be starting Clomid/insemmination for the first time.....? I am going to start using clomid in a little over a week for the first time, and we are going to undergo insemmination as well. Does anyone have any advice? Any luck with this treatment for anyone? Did Clomid make any of crazy emotional or have bad side effects? Just looking for info on how this went for anyone else

double blessed replied: "I went through 3 cycles of clomid and iui. Unfortunately none of them worked. My husband has low sperm count and poor motility so our chances were low anyway. The doctor told us we had about a 20% chance of it working. I did notice changes emotionally in me. The first time was a low dose- 50mg but I noticed hot flashes then when we went on to a higher dosage I noticed quick mood changes as well. I was also a little bloated. It wasn't really bad though. It doesn't compare to injectable drugs! Good luck. I hope you get your bfp!"
